Obituary: on 3 August 2016: Gloria Guerrero Cauchi, 86, died peacefully in the San Diego retirement community with her husband of 20 years, Richard Steele. Gloria was a San Francisco native, born in 1929, the daughter of Filiberto and Lupe Guerrero. Just after the war ended Gloria met and married her prince, Vincent Cauchi. They moved to the suburbs of Broadmoor Village and started their family. They were happily married until his death in 1994. Gloria was fortunate to find love again and married Richard Steele with whom she shared her Golden Years. Gloria loved old movies, singing, dancing, cooking family meals, and the 20 years she spent working at Macy's in Serramonte. She was known in her retirement community for her sense of humor and sweet disposition – always ready to join in a songfest or enjoy a special event. Gloria was the loving mother of Caroline Cauchi (Melbourne Hovell), Sharon Cauchi (Donald Feil) and Vincent Cauchi Jr. She is preceded in her death by her brother Edward and survived by her brothers, Phil Guerrero of Tracey and Richard (Angela) Guerrero of Reno, grandchildren Shannon, Chad and Amber, and many nieces and nephews. Bless you Mom, you were the best and will never be forgotten.
Services for Gloria will be held August 6, 3:30 at Chapel of the Highlands, Millbrae.
